Due to the weather forecast, we have postponed the Mental Health BBQ & Resource Fair to Thursday, May 14th from 5–7 PM.
Because several neighboring counties are hosting similar events that same evening, a few of our vendors may be unable to attend. However, we are still confident the event will offer valuable resources and support for our families and community.
We hope you’re able to join us.

What an amazing way to wrap up the season! 🎉
Yesterday, our Girls on the Run team crossed the finish line at their 5K, and we couldn’t be more proud! Throughout the season, these incredible girls dedicated themselves to training, building confidence, and strengthening their social, emotional, and physical skills.
They showed perseverance, teamwork, and heart every step of the way and it truly paid off!
Great job, girls! 💕 We are so proud of each and every one of you!

Protecting our local wildlife, one brushstroke at a time! 🎨🌊
Students from BES recently teamed up with the Maryland Coastal Bays Program to paint protective shelters used by nesting Terns right here in Worcester County.
These specially designed shelters give our local seabirds a safe place to nest and raise their chicks. Not only did our students help support local biodiversity, but they also learned the importance of environmental stewardship and protecting the fragile ecosystems of the Coastal Bays.
Take a look at these amazing photos to see our future conservationists at work!

We had a special visitor in PreK during our Pet Theme—Max the Firedog! 🚒🐾 Max came to see our students and definitely put big smiles on their faces. The children loved meeting him and learning about a real community helper. A big thank you to Mr. Spice and the Ocean City Fire Department for bringing such a fun and memorable experience to our classroom!

🎶 Steel Drums Residency at BES! 🥁
Throughout the next two days, K–4 students are taking part in a Steel Drums residency with Rock Creek Steel Drum founder Kevin Martin. Students are exploring the history and culture of steel drums while learning rhythm, melodies, and teamwork—building confidence through hands-on musical learning.
The Residency will conclude with a Family Engagement Night on April 29 from 5:30–6:30pm. Join us to learn how to play the steel drums alongside your child in a fun, interactive experience! This free event supports our Title I goal of strengthening the home–school connection through shared learning.
We can’t wait to make music together! 💚
