Neurodiversity Week is part of a global effort to promote understanding, respect, and inclusion of individuals with neurological differences such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences. By highlighting neurodiversity within our schools, we reinforce the message that differences are not deficits, but strengths that enrich our classrooms and communities.
This week provides a meaningful opportunity to:
• Promote a culture of belonging and acceptance
• Increase awareness and understanding among staff and students
• Recognize the unique strengths and contributions of neurodivergent individuals
• Foster conversations that support inclusive practices schoolwide

The scheduled school safety drill at BES is now complete. Normal school operations have resumed, and access to the building is no longer limited. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep our students and staff safe.
Good afternoon,
At this time, BES is conducting a school safety drill. There is no emergency at this time; however, access to our school may be limited until the drill is completed. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
We are so proud of Tia Qiang and Empress Mckay, who represented BES at the Eastern Shore Regional Spelling Bee held at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore this weekend.
Students from 43 schools across Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties competed in this challenging academic event, and our BES students did an outstanding job representing our school community.
Participating in a regional spelling bee takes courage, preparation, and a strong love of learning.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the way they represented Buckingham Elementary.
Please join us in congratulating our amazing BES spellers! 💚
