As a follow up to the announcement from WCPS, tomorrow will be a virtual learning day. Teachers and students at BES will follow our virtual learning schedule and meet through Schoology conferences for synchronous (live) instruction.

You may remember we sent home your student's password and login directions prior to our winter break as well as a Snow Day take home packet. Please dojo your student's teacher if you need support accessing the live conferences or with anything else throughout the day. You may also contact our helpdesk at https://tinyurl.com/WCPSHelp. The attached video reviews how to login to Schoology, navigate to your homeroom course and use Schoology conferencing. https://youtu.be/xfGbZVOYgYk.

We understand that internet and power outages may not allow all students to join conferences. Please don’t stress! We are here to support you. Any student unable to participate in synchronous (live) instruction will have 5 days from our date of return to complete make up work. Paper copies of virtual work and choice boards are available in students snow day folder/packets.

We will all do our best! Stay safe as we continue to dig out of Blizzard 2026.

Due to inclement weather conditions, Worcester County Public Schools will hold a virtual learning day on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Students should log-on to Schoology as directed by their school. All after school, evening and Adult Education classes are cancelled.

WCPS is aware that power and connectivity outages are still impacting some areas of our school system; however, as a reminder, all students will be provided support to make-up any instruction and classwork upon our return to in-school learning should they not be able to access synchronous instruction. 🍎 A-Z Adventure at Food Lion! Our PreK-4 students reached an exciting milestone in their literacy unit this week. After studying environmental print—the symbols, signs, and logos that surround us—they visited the Ocean Pines Food Lion to apply their knowledge.

Under the guidance of Ms. Wanda, students participated in an alphabet scavenger hunt and even received a hands-on demonstration of how to scan and bag groceries. This immersive experience helps our students recognize that reading happens everywhere, not just in books!

Special thanks to Ms. Wanda and the Ocean Pines Food Lion team for being such wonderful hosts!
