It’s Public School Volunteer Week, and at Buckingham Elementary, we are excited to recognize and celebrate our amazing volunteers 💚
Our BES volunteers, parents, grandparents, family members, high school students, and community partners show up, help out, and support all across our school… and let’s be honest, many do their best to avoid the camera 📸
Even if we don’t always catch you in a picture, please know WE SEE YOU and truly appreciate you. You are such an important piece of our school community. Thank you for all you do! 🧩

Next week, our friends at Stephen Decatur High School are celebrating Earth Week, sponsored by the Surfrider Club! Each day will feature a different theme to encourage students and families to think about small, everyday ways we can all help take care of our planet.
We invite our families and students to join in the fun by participating in “Meatless Monday”—try packing a vegetarian lunch as a simple way to help reduce our environmental impact. 🥕🥗
Stay tuned for more Earth Week themes and ideas. Together, we can make a difference—one small step at a time! 💚🌍

💚 Every Piece Matters at BES! 🧩
We want to give a huge THANK YOU to our incredible support staff for going above and beyond to support our students!
This session of After School Academy, Mr. Mumford and Ms. Tindley are hosting an all-boys mentorship club, creating a space for connection, encouragement, and growth.
We are so grateful for the dedication and care our staff shows every day!! 💚
Please check your child's folder for adjustments to Bus 43's pick up time in the morning. This change is to help us make sure students arrive at school on time. Please call the school if you have any questions.
Thank you!
Ordering a shirt is NOT REQUIRED to participate; however, if you and your child would like a $13 commemorative shirt, please complete the form in your child's folder and indicate the size shirt(s) you need and your method of payment. Please return forms ASAP. Reach out to Mrs. Bennett if you have any questions.
More information about the Bike to School Day, such as meet up locations and routes, will be sent out closer to May 6th.

We are looking for volunteers to share their knowledge and experiences across a variety of careers to help our students learn more about the many opportunities in our community.
✨ Why this matters:
Learning about careers at a young age helps students connect what they learn in school to the real world. It sparks curiosity, builds motivation, and inspires them to dream big about their future!
📍 Event Details:
This will be an outdoor event held in our car rider loop and will take place throughout the school day.
If you, a family member, or someone you know would be interested in participating, we would love to have you join us and make a lasting impact on our students!
