Students in Mrs. Singer's class explored the laws of physics! While applying math and science skills, Students created a hypothesis, designed an experiment, ran trials and collaboratively collected data, presented their findings in the form of a graph and drew conclusions about the relationship between mass and potential energy after analyzing patterns in results! Phew! Oh and had a lot of fun racing their hotwheel cars while they were at it!

IMPORTANT: Please see the below statement from Worcester County Board of Education President, Todd Ferrante: The Worcester County Board of Education held a special closed session meeting this morning to further discuss the school safety matters brought forth in the joint letter from the Worcester County State’s Attorney and Sheriff’s offices. As school safety is of the upmost importance to the Board, we are thoughtfully reviewing both the information previously presented by our law enforcement officials as well as the information presented today from school system leadership. We truly appreciate our school system community’s patience as we examine these matters with the focus and care that it deserves. The Board has decided today to extend the closed session of the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in order to further discuss these matters. The Board will now open the regular meeting on this date at 9:00 a.m. to immediately vote to move into closed session. It is my hope that the Board of Education will be able to address our school system community during the regularly scheduled open session, which will begin at 12:30 p.m. Again, we thank our community for their patience and understanding as we work toward resolving this matter.

IMPORTANT: Please see the below statement from Worcester County Board of Education President, Todd Ferrante. "In light of the joint letter recently received by the Worcester County Board of Education from the Worcester County State’s Attorney and Sheriff’s Offices indicating concerns regarding school safety, the Board convened a special meeting at the earliest opportunity as the safety and security of our students and staff is the number one priority of both the Board and school system staff. This meeting occurred on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, where the Board heard the concerns from our county law enforcement officials during a closed session, and at the direction of the Board, school system leadership is currently investigating those concerns. The Board of Education will hold another special meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. at the Board of Education office to hear the findings of the school system’s investigation into these matters. More information about this meeting can be found on our website, www.worcesterk12.org. At the conclusion of the October 10, closed session meeting, I anticipate being able to make a public statement specifically addressing the allegations in the letter we received while maintaining the privacy of any students and personnel referenced. We take matters of safety and security very seriously as we strive to ensure that our school system community rests assured that our schools are safe centers for learning."
