Hello Families,

This year, Buckingham will celebrate great attendance with monthly classroom incentives for the class with the highest attendance percentage each month.

For PreK3 and PreK4, students in the winning classroom will get to choose a prize from Bucky’s Be-Here Treasure Box.

For Kindergarten–4th Grade, winning classrooms will have the chance to earn fun rewards throughout the year, including a special breakfast, popcorn bar, game day, extra recess, and more!

For September, the classroom with the highest attendance percentage will win a special breakfast on September 30th.

As a reminder, students in Kindergarten–4th Grade who remain in good attendance standing throughout the school year (1–9 absences) will be invited to attend a special end-of-year field trip. Students with perfect attendance will also have the opportunity to attend a waterpark trip in June!

Every day matters! Thank you for helping your child be at school, on time, and ready to learn!

Both Annabelle and Josie went above and beyond in our summer reading challenge, which was generously sponsored by a Literacy Grant through Dollar General!

Through this program, participating students received a fantastic literacy kit packed with a brand-new book, hands-on materials, fun activities, and helpful family literacy resources. Students who completed and turned in their reading challenge bingo cards were automatically entered into our grand prize drawing.

A big round of applause to Annabelle and Josie for their hard work—they walked away with an awesome Kindle Kids and a Toniebox! 📖🎧

Important Safety Update: Parking & Dismissal Procedures for Walkers
Dear BES Families,
As we work together to keep our school grounds safe for everyone, we need your help with our arrival and dismissal procedures. Recently, we have seen a significant increase in vehicles parking along West Buckingham Rd., Tingle Rd., Middle St., and Purnell Ave. during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Because these areas experience heavy traffic from pedestrian walkers, bicyclists, and school buses, parked vehicles along these side streets create dangerous blind spots and safety hazards for our students.
To ensure all children remain safe, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
Walker Designation: The "Walker" designation is strictly for students who are walking or riding their bikes directly to their final destination from campus.
Car Riders: If you plan to pick your child up in a vehicle, your student must be designated as a "Car Rider" and picked up through the official car rider loop.
Changes in Dismissal: Any daily exceptions or changes to your child's standard dismissal routine must be submitted through School Dismissal Manager..
We greatly appreciate your cooperation, patience, and partnership in keeping our school zone safe for all of our students!

Hi Families!

Did you know that missing just 2 days of school each month can add up quickly? Over the course of the school year, those absences can equal 10% of the school year—and 10% of valuable learning time.

Here’s how attendance is measured throughout the year:
• 0–9 days absent: Good Attendance Standing
• 10–17 days absent: At Risk of Becoming Chronically Absent
• 18+ days absent: Chronically Absent

We want to make coming to school something to celebrate! This year, the classes with the highest attendance percentage each month will earn a special celebration. Students in grades Kindergarten through 4th grade who demonstrate excellent attendance throughout the school year will also be invited to participate in a special end-of-year field trip!

Everyday matters, and we appreciate your partnership in helping our students be present, engaged, and ready to learn!

If you have any questions or would like additional support on getting your child/children to school daily, please contact Amanda Chaffee, Community School Liaison, at 410-632-5300 or Acchaffee@worcesterk12.org.
